How we made the Strategy

The strategy document icon, with a question mark on it.

We asked the community what we should include in our Strategy.

A group of people under a light bulb.

Over 1,200 people shared their ideas.

We heard from:

An Autistic person with their hand up.
  • Autistic people
A person supporting an Autistic person.
  • people who support them.

We also heard from:

A worker supporting someone.
  • providers – organisations that support people by delivering a service
3 people standing in front of a large building with a disability icon on it.
  • organisations that speak up for people with disability
A person standing in front of a government building.
  • people who work for the government.
3 people standing behind a panel that shows a head with the brain highlighted and an infinity symbol.

We also worked with the State Autism Strategy Advisory Committee.

A group of people with laptop computers having a discussion.

An advisory committee is a group of people who give us advice.

The State Autism Strategy Advisory Committee includes:

An Autistic person smiling with one hand up, and the other hand on their chest.
  • Autistic people
A person supporting an Autistic person.
  • people who support Autistic people.
A strategy icon and a thumbs up.

We will keep working with the Autistic and autism communities to make sure the Strategy works well.
